6/12/2018 0 Comments Final Blog Post This class was so much fun. The first day I walked in, I was actually kind of expecting less. I was happily surprised however, because within the first few days we were already taking photos. This was a good change from learning the parts of the camera like we did in Photo I. We also learned a lot about photoshop. Much of this learning was independent and I really liked that. It enabled me to learn at my own pace and work on things that I wanted to. There was also a lot of new stuff that we did with the camera that was very interesting. One of these was the Panographics which I loved, and also light painting. After this class, I began to realize how much you can do with a camera, and how editing them makes them even better. I'm glad I took this class and learned a lot about photography, and even photoshop as well. Below is a compilation of some of my good, and some of my not so good photos.

6/8/2018 0 Comments Photo 9, ChoiceFor this assignment we could do anything we wanted as long as it related to photography. So I decided to delve into photoshop a little bit more and I saw two images looked very appealing to me and I wanted to make my own, so I did. While completing this assignment I learned that in order to do good in photoshop, you need to take your time. When making these photos, I took a lot of thing way too fast and had to go back and re-do them over and over again. I finally settled in and took my time the first go around and didn't move on until I was happy with how it looked. This process made everything happen a little smoother.
6/8/2018 0 Comments Photo 8, MotionFor this assignment I had to take photos that displayed motion, or the lack there of. I decided to mix in a little photoshop as well and made a photo that is chronophotographic, meaning that the motion of one act is displayed in multiple parts of the photo In doing this assignment I learned a little bit more about the camera and how to take multiple photos so quickly while still getting a sharp image.
For this assignment, I had to look at advertisements online and recreate them using our own photos. When I was doing this assignment and was taking pictures at home, I realized how much professional lighting makes a difference. Many of my photos had unwanted glares and extremely bright highlights that took away from the appeal.
5/29/2018 0 Comments Photo Assignment 7, AnimalFor this assignment I had to take pictures of animals. I also really wanted to make the animals look natural like they weren't in a cage, so I tried to not show much of the background. In doing this assignment, I learned a bit more about how to position my subjects with their background to make them look more natural.
5/25/2018 0 Comments Assignment 11, TutorialsThis assignment was kind of a free photoshop project for us. We all had to do a polaroid but after that you could do anything in photoshop that you wanted. So I chose to do a pretty hard one which is the one the mans face in the tree. After I finished the hard one, I just did some other pretty easy 10 minute ones. In doing this assignment I learned that photoshop is very time consuming, and to do anything that looks very good, you need to be very deliberate with what you do. In particular, the one with the man in the tree, was where I learned this the most. I had to go back a lot and take my time through stuff I rushed a little before. Overall, I loved this assignment a lot.
5/25/2018 0 Comments Assignment 10, PortraitsFor this assignment I had to take portraits. Two of them had to be done in a studio with special lights, and three of them had to be non-studio portraits done with a bounce card. In doing this assignment, I learned how much lighting can change how a face looks in a photo. I knew how much lighting mattered before, but it matters so much more in portraits because of how the shadows look.
5/22/2018 0 Comments Photo Assignment 6, Light Painting For this assignment I decided to do light painting. Light painting is when take a photo with a very long exposure time, and then you take any form of light and "paint" with it in front of the camera. For these photos I lit some still wool and swung it around. While doing this assignment, I learned that to do these really well I needed to set a timer so that the camera would start taking the picture a few seconds after I pressed the button. I needed to do this because if I didn't, the photos would be a little bit out of focus because I would shake the camera a little when I pressed the button.
For this assignment I had to take pictures of others that display their environment/surroundings. While I was taking photos for this assignment, I realized how much I love Depth of Field and I will be using it more in the future.
5/14/2018 0 Comments Assignment 8, Self PortraitsFor this assignment either myself or others had to take pictures of me. These are the two I chose to show. Through doing this assignment I learned that you need to stay focused even when you don't have the camera in your hands because your attitude becomes part of the photo.
